Asian Women’s Health Awareness

Lung Cancer and Beyond

by Jeffrey Velotta, MD

Did you know that the incidence of lung cancer is decreasing in various groups, except for non-smoking Asian women? What could be the reasons behind this exception? What preventive healthcare measures can Asian women take to reduce their own risks?

The featured speaker for this event is a seasoned cancer surgeon from the Bay Area. Beginning with the high incidence of lung cancer among Asian women, the talk aims to raise awareness of cancer risks and screening guidelines for first-generation Asian female immigrants. Expert advice will be provided to help attendees understand how to effectively utilize the U.S. healthcare system for preventive healthcare measures.
