过去几周，有多起涉及移民的新闻在美国引发关注：在几所高校内，多名韩裔、印度裔、阿拉伯裔学生因参与抗议活动而被吊销签证或绿卡；国会致信马里兰大学要求提交中国留学生的个人信息；在机场，先后有黎巴嫩籍和法国籍科学家在被检查手机后遭到遣返；在北部和南部边境，多位加拿大、英国和德国籍游客在入境时遭羁押后驱逐出境…… 这些新闻引发在美移民与留学生群体的担忧。

包括旧金山湾区在内的多所高校，已向国际学生和教职员工发出旅行警示；签证和工作环境的不确定性，正在影响包括留学生、持工作签证的“打工人”和绿卡持有者在内的各类非公民群体。

In recent weeks, a series of immigration-related incidents has sparked concern across the U.S. On several university campuses, students have had their visas or green cards revoked after participating in protests; a Congressional committee has requested extensive details on Chinese national students. At airports, scientists from Lebanon and France were detained and deported after their phones were searched. Along the northern and southern borders, tourists from Canada, the UK, and Germany have been held upon entry and subsequently expelled.

In response, many universities—including those in the San Francisco Bay Area—have issued travel advisories to international students and staff. The growing uncertainty surrounding visas and employment is affecting a wide range of non-citizen groups, including students, workers and permanent residents. As immigrants, how do we protect our rights in a shifting landscape?
